1957 Printed sheet for the Trans Antarctic Expedition (Patron her Majesty the Queen) bearing 1954 Ships set to 5s each tied SHACKLETON 27 JAN 1957 double ring cds cancel at the Shackleton Base at the start of the expedition, which was the first to successfully cross the Antarctic continent overland via the South pole. Light creases in NE corner otherwise interesting and unusual album piece. SG G26/G38.

1936 Three commercial covers (faults) incl 1936 FOX BAY 1d Whale & Penguin tied along with 1935 SJ 1d to Surrey, UK with FOX BAY / B cds's, 1936 Centenary ½d Sheep & 1d Whale & Penguin tied PORT STANLEY cds cancels, third cover (vertical fold) with Whale & Penguin 2½d blue with part SOUTH GEORGIA / C cds cancel to Tonsberg, Norway from Grytviken, South Georgia. For over 60 years Grytviken was a whaling station where thousands of whales were processed for their oil and by products.
