1915 ( 7 & 25 May) Two tatty stampless covers to same correspondence in London both with PASSED BY CENSOR / INDIAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE / 41 in red or 23 cancel in violet, with FPO CDS on reverse No.28 & No.311. Both have tatty edges but mainly good strikes of censor h/s.
1950 Inauguration set in commemorative folder neatly affixed to the inside, mainly fine, SG 329/332.
1955 Printed Alwyn Cooper Ltd NAGPUR illustrated advertising card of a Tiger sent to New York with attractive meter mark for 6a & 4a SCL N-38 in red. Typed message for advertising in a US magazine sent from BIG GAME PROFESSIONAL SHIKARIS. Intr big game hunting company correspondence.
Prisoners of War Mail WWII Blue envelope from India to Germany bearing 8a violet GVI defin tied small incomplete oval cancel in black, with PRISONERS OF WAR POST single line violet h/s alongside, and manuscript Service of prisoners of war German language along the top. Other handstamps on obverse DHN/* in violet, Ab in black circle, PASSED DHN/2 in black. Sent via airmail, no backstamps but Wing 6 Control sender addr on reverse. Wrinkles and creases otherwise nice Indian POW item.
Three QV postal stationery envelopes used mainly to local addresses incl 1ch ultramarine (2) with native postmark in circle of bars, with two native backstamps, plus 2ch pink unused, nice trio. (3).
1910-32 Five tatty covers used commercially including better 1926 5c pair tied Yokohama octagonal cancels addr to Rangoon sent from Saigon, via BASSEN and SINGAPORE transit CDS cancels, 1910 10c on cvr to Saigon 1917 torn cover with 25c x 2 to Madras, 1932 Yokohama cancels on 10c defin to India via Colombo. Very poor condition but hard to find. (5).
1950 States United RIS overprint 2r grey-green hinged mint with fresh appearance, the key stamp for this issue, SG 597.
1950 States United RIS overprint 3r purple hinged mint with fresh appearance, SG 598.
1988 Olympic Games set of 2 miniature sheets both perf and imperf unmounted mint, fine, SG MS1888 Cat £120.
Dutch East Indies: 1861 (16 Apr) Batavia Entire Letter to Bordeaux with neat BATAVIA FRANCO horseshoe type d/s and h/s 8 charge mark alongside, with PAYS ETR / V SUEZ AMB. cds in red along with trade cachet in blue. Two Bordeaux back stamps.
Useful group on stockcards including 1968 Monument M/S (Cat £50), 1967 Social Day M/S (2, cat £50 each), 1955 defins mint, 1954 Merapi set m, 1972 Fish, 1998 Ducks M/S etc, nice little lot.
1899 Nasser-Edin Shah Qajar, P.12½ 10k dark blue key value neat mounted mint example, fresh, SG 162. Scarce.
