1877 (6 Mar) Entire London to Vienna bearing 3d rose pl.18 & 6d grey pl.15 tied incomplete numeral cancels sent registered with REGISTERED LETTER cds in red alongside. Nice combination for 9d rate.
1877 (7 Sept) Cover Pontypridd to Buenos Aires, Argentina, bearing 1s green plate 12 fine used cds and duplex. Fine used.
1878 (18 Dec) Printed inside the flap Stuckeys Banking Company Wincanton to Warminster bearing 1d pl.192 tied 288 numeral cancel. Two filing holes with handwritten £sd on inside of the flap.
1881 14 dots 1d pale lilac hinged mint example with hinge remains, toned at the top otherwise sound and fine, SG 171 Cat £225.
1882 Money Order for 14s 9d issued by The Money Order Bank Limited, bearing 10s, 2s (2), 6d & 1d (3) square adhesive stamps used to make up the value and albino 1d embossed GB cheque stamp at upper right, stamps cancelled by Money Order Bank handstamps dated May 30th 82 and Royal Bank of Scotland Company oval handstamp in black. A tremendously rare document from this short lived bank, which was established in March 1881 to compete against the Post Office's newly introduced Postal Orders. The bank was wound up less than two years later on 25th January 1883 leaving very few surviving orders. Superb!
1884 2½d lilac plate reconstruction mainly sound used, almost complete plus extras, 300 stamps in all laid out on stockpages, STC £6,000.
1890 Post Office Jubilee penny postage cover 2nd July 1890 with South Kensington cancel to Kent, no insert card.
1902 1s dull green and carmine very fine used MAIDSTONE 1903 cds cancel, fine colour, SG 257.
1902 Registered cover to York Union Banking in York bearing 1d red strip of 3 tied three CRIEFF d/r cds cancels. Registered Edinburgh and York backstamps, fine.
1902-10 Mint assembly of 12 different values including 1s, 10d, 9d, 6d, 5d, 4d green and brown, 3d, 2½d etc., all mounted mint with hinge remains, some more than other, SG Cat £640. (12).
1905 JURY SUMMONS - 6th February printed letter bearing 3d tied BRIGG squared circle cancel, addr to a local in Louth, Lincolnshire summoned to appear as a Special Juror for the trial of all issues. Very fine.
1908 (20 May) LANDING STAGE / LIVERPOOL / * cds on EDVII 1s green and carmine with large part of the cancel showing LANDING STAGE postmark type M18 (TPO & Seapost reference),. The floating stage was constructed in 1879 until 1955 and allowed large transatlantic liners from America mooring directly on the landing stage where a post office was setup on the pier to cancel mail received at the last moment for posting on the last mail ship to leave. Three cancels are known for this purpose. Small thin at top. Hard to find.
