1839 (24 Jan) Entire Letter Glasgow to Perkins and Bacon & Pitch London thanking them for the box 'with stamps..for the balance of £66 1/6' from the Glasgow and Ship Bank 'requested that the bank honor your cheques'. Perkins, Bacon & Fitch were appointed in 1839 to produce the Penny Black by Rowland Hill as part of their tendering process they presented him with a printing sample of the ten commandments engraved within the diameter of a sixpence to demonstrate their skills and techniques. Interesting pre-stamp cover.
