1840 (May 5th) The day before the Penny Postage system introduced a Entire manuscript OHMS from London to Bangor with crowned PAID 5 MY 5 / 1840 superb strike in red on obverse. Instruction in red along the top 'no such person or place at Bangor Carmarthenshire' at base, 'try Wrexham'. On reverse 6th May BANGOR double arc, cancelled on the day of the Penny Black Penny Postal service. Interesting item.
