1884 (11 Feb) Cover from Queen Victoria to Bishops Storford bearing 1d lilac tied by rare London hooded cancel V.R. / 11 FB 84 / D cancel. Signed bottom left Th. Q. (The Queen). Queen Victoria gave up her free mail privilege in 1840 after the Penny postage system as a goodwill gesture. She continued to sign the bottom left of all her letters.
1890 (2nd July) Jubilee Penny Postage handstamps (two different) in blue or violet on unposted 1d brown Postal stationery card for the first day of the South Kensington exhibition, few tone spots otherwise good strikes.
1891 £1 green sound fine used with three oval registered cancels of FENCHURCH ST, good perfs and colour. SG 212. Cat £675.
Advertising Rings: Smith Elder & Co c1862 1s embossed centre with green advertising ring used with incomplete numeral cancel, rubbing but still attractive.
