1925 British Arctic Expedition Specimen Algarsson Airship Flight label on printed cover. Blue label tied by vertical SPECIMEN handstamp in violet numbered 60. The expedition was led jointly by Frank Worsley & Grettir Algarsson to sail to Spitzbergen and Algarsson would fly to the Pole by plane or small airship, crash the plane and sledge back. Lack of funds forced them to abandon the idea of the conquest by air. Labels were produced for a proposed trial flight by dirigible from London to Liverpool and this is one of approx. 100 covers produced. Very scarce. AA #PP38a.
