Queen Victoria Long registered postal stationery envelope India 2a ultr, ovptd Zanzibar in blue. Folded in the middle and toning across the cover, scarce.
1888-93 Mint assembly of seven different values ½d vermilion to 1s dull green all hinged mint, few with gum faults, 1s has few toned perfs but good colour, SG 1/5, 7 & 10 Cat £396.
1888-93 Seven mint / part o.g. examples 1d, 2d, 2½d, 3d all hinged mint, 4d & 6d paper on reverse, ½d dull green on Natal without stop hinged mint SG 2-6, 8, 13.
1888-93 Three f.u. cds values ½d, 1d & 2d with ESHOWE cds, SG 1/3.
1893 5d dull purple and blue fine used ESHOWE CDS cancel, sound and fine color, SG 7 Cat £120.
1894 (Dec) £1 purple on red hinged mint, very fresh with some hinge remains, excellent colour. SG 28.
1836 (April) Entire Oldham to London bearing faint Oldham P.P. boxed in red with PAID AT MANCHESTER part circle in red and London 'tombstone' E PAID h/s alongside, damaged from opening and horiz. fold with some soiling.
1839 Handwritten and signed envelope panel: Her Royal Highness the Princess Augusta, Clarence House, and additional hand manuscript The Queen with Her Majesty Queen Victoria 1839 alongside. Original red wax sealed affixed to front from the back. Queen Victoria was 2 years into her reign and aged 20 when this was written. Princess Augusta was the second daughter of King George III. She died at Clarence House a year after Victoria wrote to her. She was 71. Written just moths before introduction of the Penny Black.
1840 (11 May) One Penny Mulready envelope (Forme 4, Stereo a172), very fine example sent Liverpool to Kendal neatly cancelled Liverpool orange-red MX cancel and matching 11th May cds on reverse. Imprint on lower flap WEBB, L'PPOL' for Waring Webb of Liverpool (SG MA490b). Scarce early use. Ex. Mayflower.
1840 (15 May) Entire of small size used Holborn to Walbrook bearing two line Holborn W.O. / 1D PAID h/s in black with PD / 8 NT / MY 15 / 1840. Nice May date item.
1840 1d black & 1841 1d red matched pair (LK) 1d black with three large to close margin example from plate 5, black MX cancel. Touching into bottom left corner. 1841 has creases.
