The battleship was assigned to the Atlantic Fleet in WW2 visiting Portugal Britain in this time. Later becoming part of Force X based in Dakar then deployed to the Mediterranean to act as a deterrent to Italy. Later it was bombed in 1942 by the Germans, then again by the Americans in 1944.
