Lot 72 POSTAL HISTORY

1962 (20 Aug) AVION SINISTRE water damaged airmail cover from Argentina to Amsterdam. Bearing 19p50 combination recovered from Pan-Air Brazil flight which crashed on take off at Rio De Janeiro on 20th August 1962. Bears two line bi-lingual Avion Sinistre h/s in black, and upon arrival on Amsterdam a typed label affixed Beschadigd te Amsterdam CS ontvangen / Post afkomstig van in zee gestort tied by two line boxed AMSTERDAM CS / beschadigde stukken H/S in violet.
