Dear Collector,
This auction features several important sections including the balance of over 400 lots of premium British Empire stamps from a lifetime collection
The collection spans the reigns of Queen Victoria through KG 5th, the collector assembled mint, used, and, in many cases, Specimen sets.
Highlights include the Falkland Islands, St. Vincent, Ascension Island and St. Helena, Orange Free state, British Africa with Tanganyika, Kenya & Uganda, British East Africa, German East Africa, Zululand, Rhodesia featuring early surcharges, Double Heads, Admiral Heads.
We have priced the majority of these lots at approximately 30–35% of catalogue value, with a small number of the higher catalogue value key items priced slightly higher.
The first section of the auction is dedicated to Fournier Forgeries with a complete book split into 105 country sections, ideal to add something unusual to your collection, with many impressive pages for classic stamps of the world (worth £1000s as genuine) beautiful blocks and multiples.
Also included in this sale a superb WWII German Occupation collection written up on leaves for Propaganda stamps, various French or Flemish Legion issues, German Occupations for 1939-45 with plenty of interesting areas represented and hard to find material.
The mixed section is full to the brim with British Commonwealth and Foreign collections, a worldwide collector’s estate of over 120 albums in boxes and or single country lots, with a huge quantity of mainstream defins and commems, mint & used, ideal for a new country or just to fill those gaps, sorter boxes and much more.
