World early to Modern, mint or used very untidy accumulation in various volumes, packets, envelopes, and loose, with selections on cards, covers, kiloware, including Netherlands, Channel Islands, GB, Br. C/Wealth, Europe etc, 1000s.

Worldwide all periods mint and used jumbled on dozens of stockcards better throughout noted amongst others W. Germany 1949 Stamp Centenary set mint (Cat £120), Lebanon 1960 FFH mint, Italy and states imperfs, European earlies, German Cols, Portugal & colonies, France, USA from classics, Thailand, plus many more, many 100s. Very good sorter lot.

LOT63 EPHEMERA

Four sided letter sheet 17cm x 21cm, A form of Prayer and thanksgiving to Almighty God for his merciful preservation of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh from the attack of an assassin in Australia on Thursday the 12th of March 1868, and her majesty's Forces in the Abyssinian Expedition for the rescue of certain Captives imprisoned in that Country, vertical fold otherwise interesting prayer sheet distributed to all churches and chapels in England & Wales....interesting pamphlet.

LOT70 POSTAL HISTORY

1821 Battle of Antrodoco (Rieti) Interesting Entire Letter from Liverpool to Montreal sent via New York with accounting rates and SHIP h/s in red on obverse and on arrival in New York red MAY 10 circular cancel. Contents relate to " the defeat of the Neapolitan by the Austrians, the entry of the latter into Naples. The Neapolitan troops fled on the first onset, any further contest will depend on other nations, " , interesting and attractive historical letter.

1857 Seven stampless covers from same correspondence to Liverpool including from Geneva, Venezia, Paris, Chamonix, each with manuscript 6 or 8 charge mark and three with boxed two line FR. / 1F78c French Exchange Office Entry mark plus various transit cancels and Liverpool dotted arc receiving h/s on obv., faults incl wrinkles and tones, intr group (6).

1937 (16 July) Flight over the roof of the world - Plain postcard bearing newspaper article pasted to obverse for trial Moscow to San Francisco mail flight autographed by three Russians (Alexander Beliakoff, Valeri Chekaloff, Goergi Baibukoff) ending in Vancouver Washington due to fog. additional map pasted on reverse and Byrd Atlantic 3c blue tied NY Station wavy line cancel addr to Chicago signed by the three pilots. Some faults but very scarce flight cover.

Maritime: 1904 - 12 Three PPC's ; one an advertising card for White Star Line with nice coloured image of one of their ships used in Liverpool in 1904 plus a 1910 card from France (with french stamp) with very fine LONDON MB cds and finally 1912 card to UK with Port Said 'PAQUEBOT' H/S. Nice trio in very fine condition

1930 (18 May) Freidrichschafen to Lakehurst South America flight bearing 2rm blue and 4rm sepia tied Freidrichschafen 18th May CDS and red South America flight h/s in red alongside, addr to Harrisburg USA and Lakehurst May 31st backstamp in green, minor tear and few wrinkles otherwise fine. Michel 438/9 Cat Ï1000 as singles. Sieger 57 F).

USA REVENUES: Carton containing SEVEN 16 page stockbooks with a duplicated range of revenues from various departments including Wines, Postal Note, Documentary, Propriety, Stock Transfer, etc,.. plus State Revenues with New York, Penn, Mass, etc,.. Mixed condition with the usual cut cancels, perfins, punch holes, but many fine. Needs checking and sorting. A must to view (approx 3,500 to 4,000 stamps)
